China Legal Insights ("CLI", "we", "us", or "our") is an AI-powered legal intelligence platform that monitors Chinese regulatory changes and delivers translated updates to international legal professionals. Our registered address is on file with relevant authorities.

We collect the following categories of personal data:

Account data: name, email address, password (bcrypt-hashed), subscription tier.
Usage data: search queries, regulations viewed, export actions, alert subscriptions.
Payment data: processed by Stripe. We store only a Stripe customer ID; full card details never touch our servers.
Technical data: IP address (masked in logs after 24 hours), browser type, request timestamps.

Provide, maintain, and improve the CLI platform
Send regulatory alert emails you have subscribed to
Process payments and manage your subscription
Improve translation quality through aggregated, anonymised feedback patterns
Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Usage logs are retained for 90 days. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing privacy@chinalegalinsights.com.

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, Fernet encryption for API credentials, and strict access controls. We perform regular security reviews.

Resend — transactional email delivery
Vercel — frontend hosting
Railway — backend infrastructure
