Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using China Legal Insights ("CLI", "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CLI provides AI-assisted monitoring and translation of Chinese legal and regulatory publications for informational purposes. Translations are generated by automated systems and are provided for general informational use only. CLI is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

⚠ Important: Translations produced by CLI should not be relied upon as authoritative legal interpretations. Always consult qualified legal counsel for advice on specific matters.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials. You may not share your account with others. CLI reserves the right to suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscription and Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds are provided at CLI's discretion for unused prepaid periods. Prices may change with 30 days' notice.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, bulk download, or systematically copy content from the platform
• Resell or redistribute CLI translations or content without written permission
• Use the Service to train AI/ML models without written permission
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or access controls
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

6. Intellectual Property

CLI owns all rights in the platform software, UI, and original content. Chinese source legal texts are public government documents. English translations produced by CLI are proprietary. Your subscription grants a personal, non-transferable licence to access translations for internal business use.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. CLI does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any translation or regulatory alert. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CLI's total liability for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate at any time. CLI may suspend or terminate access immediately for material breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases and CLI may delete your account data after 30 days.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore (or the jurisdiction of CLI's registered entity), without regard to conflict of laws provisions.

10. Changes to Terms

CLI may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be notified by email 14 days in advance.
